Description :
The red shoot roots consist of taproots that creep and continue to grow larger. The roots are round and brown in color. The roots of this plant can support the red shoot plant more strongly so that it can stand upright; the shape of the stem is round, woody, and has cambium in it. The height of the red shoot stem can reach a height of 5 meters if it grows in a fertile place and has high nutrients; the leaves of this red shoot are oval with a point at the tip of the leaf, for the structure of the red shoot leaves have leaf veins that grow on each branch.
The color of the red shoot leaves is quite unique, because if the leaves are still young, the leaves will be red, over time the leaves will turn green. The two combined colors make this plant have a beautiful color when viewed; the flowers of this red shoot plant are compound flowers arranged in a limited coral panicle. When the flowers have bloomed, the flowers of the red shoot will show a white pistil head with a pistil stalk that is shorter than the stamens of the flowers. The location of the pistil is right in the middle while the white stamen stalk is longer than the pistil and has a large number. The flowers of the pucuk merah plant are compound flowers arranged in a limited coral panicle.
Red shoot leaves has a round, slightly flattened fruit. In the middle of the upper surface of the fruit there is a depression. The size of the pucuk merah fruit is approximately 0.7 cm in diameter. The color of this fruit is shiny black when ripe.
